A Michel Therrien is a former head coach in the National Hockey League (NHL). After a first stint as bench boss of the Montreal Canadiens, he was hired by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2005-2006 to coach a team led by superstar Mario Lemieux and a young rookie sensation by the name of Sidney Crosby, arguably the best active player in the game. Under Michel, the “Pens” reached the Stanley Cup finals in 2007-08. Three years after his dismissal in Pittsburgh, he came back to the Canadiens in 2012 and guided the squad to three-straight playoff appearances, including the 2014 Eastern Conference Final.
