Vincent Damphousse is a former professional hockey player. He made his NHL debut with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1986, for which he played five regular seasons. He then made a short stint with the Edmonton Oilers for one season before being traded to Montreal in 1992. He played for seven seasons with the Canadiens and was the franchise’s captain from 1996 to 1999, when he was traded to the San Jose Sharks. Damphousse retired after being an active figure during the NHL lock-out in 2004-2005. He is to this day the last member of the Canadiens to score 40 goals in a single season.
