L'Union des producteurs agricoles du Québec (UPA) is kicking off this summer season by inviting Quebecers to join the Eat Local More Than Ever! mouvement. To do so, 4 well-known brand ambassadors are joining the campaign, including multiple Olympic medalist Marianne St-Gelais.
"I was lucky enough to grow up with a garden at home, in a family of fishermen and hunters. I can tell you that food tastes better when it comes from the local land.", says Marianne St-Gelais.
Throughout the summer, the general public is invited to visit agricultural producers who have farm kiosk sales: whether it's for day-to-day supplies or an on-the-road vacation, the Eat Local app will guide them to nearby gourmet stops. The season culminates with the Eat Local Open House on Sunday, September 10, at locations across the region. By taking part in the activities offered, Quebecers will be able to savour the diversity of local products, reduce their environmental footprint thanks to short supply chains, and contribute to the dynamism of the regions.
The brand ambassadors for the 2023 summer season will be touring four regions of the province of Quebec, with the media and regional partners, to discover a diversity of farms. Mélissa Bédard will visit Centre-du-Québec, Bob le Chef will travel to Témiscamingue, Fabien Cloutier will visit Chaudière-Appalaches and Marianne St-Gelais will travel to Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean.
As part of her ambassadorship, Marianne St-Gelais involves herself in various ways, for example, posting about the campaign on social media and taking part in a content creation photoshoot. In addition to visiting local farms in Saguenay during the month of August, she will also be promoting the campaign as a spokesperson during a media relations strategy in her region. MVP Group is proud to have been able to involve Marianne St-Gelais in this campaign, which encourages our local producers.
